Post-Upgrade "Certification" for Solaris

2007-12-24 20:02:00

I am looking to create an overall "certification suite" to run against a
newly
upgraded Solaris system (either a version upgrade or Recommended patch set
install). The idea is to test the workings of some pre-defined set of
operating
system facilities.

Advice sought on what would be included in such a "suite." Obviously, this
would be
somewhere between "it boots and you can log in," on one extreme, and "I've
tested every
executable in /usr/bin and /usr/sbin and they all work per the man pages,"
on the other.

List archives show a couple of requests for similar suites back in the Y2K
timeframe,
but nothing definitive.
