oracle listener

I know this may not the appropriate site but this probably simple for some
of you.
I try to bring oracle listener up through the crontab with this command but
it does not start up
su -l oracle -c lsnrctl start
Maybe you bring the listener up differently or maybe a script. Please share
your thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
su -l oracle -c dbstart will bring the database up fine
