Power loss during kernel update
2007-12-24 19:37:00
I have a very big problem! I was updating the kernel (106541-15) on my
Ultra 5 running Sol7 while the power went off. I was updating in single
user mode.
Now the machine tries to boot with the new kernel but rebooting with a
panic error (of course). I can't check my files (on that machine) and a
brief search on sunsolve didn't return anything useful. Is there a way to
reboot to the old kernel? I mean does Solaris keep something like unix.old
or old.unix during kernel patching? If not what the easiest way to recover
from this?
Thanks a lot, I'll summarize
David
