TELNET ISSUE

I have a telnet problem to my Sun Box. On my SUN box running SOL7 if I add "dns" entry in "nsswitch.conf" for NAMES to resolve I have a telnet problem.
When I do this I have problem in telneting from clients are very slow. (clients are NT machines, takes 2-3 min) If I go back and remove "dns" entry in nsswitch.conf will be fine and I get the prompt within a second.
Can any one tell me why this happens and how to fix it.
I shall summarize.
