Console-login not possible
2007-12-25 10:35:00
i had problems loggin in from console, see below.
My problem was impatience i think. After a `ps -ef | grep console'
i saw that syslogd did run on console after boot. After stop/start of
the syslogd it takes some time for the console port bein freed...
Now i can login from console.
My thanks to all of you again, who took time to make suggestions
and helpful hints!

--------------
My original question was:
Hello managers,
after i made an "upgrade installation" of solaris-2.7 to make my
ultra2 boot again (see my previous summary), i now have the problem
that i can't login to my console any longer.
There is a warning:
Warning -- ttymon cannot allocate controlling tty on "/dev/console",
there may be another session active on this port.
after i entered the username and i'm not prompted for the password.
My console is connected to a terminal server via serial ttya.
I have another ultra2 under solaris-2.7 with the console being connected
to that same terminal server (to another port of course) and i'm not
able to find any differences in the setup, especially /etc/default/login
is identically, but on this second ultra2 there are no problems with
login via console...
What do i miss?
