SOLUTION: Changing uname on Solaris10

2007-12-25 5:51:00

Hi!

Thanks for the mails. We finally managed to get a Solaris 9 server as
Installation server.

Overall I got the answer, that it is no good idea to utilize a hack for
something as important as a backup software. (Nothing new, though)
and that the installation script just checks the uname, so one could
either change the omniinstall.sh script or tweak the uname utility, so
it will return 5.9 as OS version.

Thanks again.
