NIS & NFS

I am facing a unique problem.
Presently I have a v880 acting as a nis master server and a 3800
as slave nis server. 3800 is also my main file server which
servers nfs mounts for clients. at present i have 12 sun blades
acting as workstations and logging in as nis clients with mounts
from 3800.
I added 12 more sun blade systems, but the problem faced now is
...when i login using nis username and passwd the login screen
hangs. On doing a telnet to the client i see that all nfs mounts
have been dismounted.
but if i do a local login everything works fine.
what i want to achieve is that a user shud login using the nis
username and passwd, access all the nfs mounts of 3800 and work on
the application which is hosted on the 3800.
PLS HELP. sorry for the long description but i think it was
needed.
